There comes a time when all Elder Scrolls Online players celebrate a spooky event called the Witches Festival. During this holiday, monsters like demons and ghouls temporarily join the list of creatures that roam Tamriel on regular days. Even if the creatures are terrifying, the event is a joyous one as it comes with fun activities and rewards. Players have 10 days starting on October 20th to enjoy the festivities. The Witches Festival provides players with a good opportunity for ESO leveling up their characters. As long as the event is active, all players gain 100% more experience points. A plethora of event themed items can be obtained at this time. Players can even change their appearance to look like one of the event monsters.

To take part in the holiday activities, players first need to visit the Crown Store and get the item called Crow Caller. This item is free and it is found under the Holiday tab. Players will be tasked with the quest Witchmother's Bargain. The items needed to complete the quest are a pumpkin, guts, and a drop from any delve boss. For completing the quest, players get the Witchmother's whistle memento. If players have completed the quest last year, they don't need to complete it again. The whistle is found in the collections menu and it is needed to obtain the XP buff. It lasts for one hour after it needs to be refreshed. This buff stacks with other XP buffs. The item summoned with the whistle is the one that allows players to alter their appearance to look like an undead. Plunder Skulls are chests obtained as drops from any boss. Inside the chest, players will find books, motif pages, event recipes, furniture, and rune boxes that can contain various masks. Players that want more holiday items are invited to visit the crown store to get holiday mounts. A holiday themed home can be bought from the crown store. Players that want to pay for the home with gold can do so after they get the An Unsparing Harvest achievement. The event lasts until the end of October.
