Elder Scrolls Online: Blackwood Traveler's Guide

Elder Scrolls Online: Blackwood is named after the area in which the new adventures take place. The zone is as big as the zones from Elsweyr or Summerset expansions. Blackwood is a world where three civilizations clash. It is located at the intersection of the provinces of Cyrodiil, Elsweyr, and Black Marsh. This new zone has not been explored in ESO but it is familiar to those that have played TES Arena and Oblivion. The place where the expansion is set where empires that are now long-lost have built their opulent cities. Gideon and Leyawiin are the two major settlements in this new expansion. The world outside the cities is home to six world bosses. There are also two new dungeons, one trial, and six delves. Oblivion portals can be found as well.

Blackwood Areas

The landscape of Blackwood mixes the iconic terrain of Black Marsh with the forests of Cyrodiil. In the northern part of the province, we have constant flooding from Nibenay Bay. Ruins of castles and cities prove that nothing can stand in nature's way. Those who like forest areas will greatly appreciate some of the new areas. Blackwood looks amazing but journeying through it will be a dangerous experience. The cities are safe areas but outside of their walls there are all sorts of dangers. This new zone is home to native species such as death hoppers. They are not just huge but also venomous. Dogs and fiends live in the bogs. Players are invited to explore the remains of the Argonian temples and uncover the mysteries that lie in Daedric vaults. Ruins of an ancient Ayleid settlement can be found in the southern part. We also have Imperial cities. This is where players will interact with the natives and discover their culture.

Blackwood Cities

Blackwood is a place that welcomes people of all races and cultures. Leyawiin, one of the two major cities, has a population from Cyrodiil and Black Marsh with a few Elsweyr natives as well. A new place calls for new habits. The races have learned how to live in peace with each other. The Imperials here are more open-minded. The Argonians are more eager to see the world. Gideon, the other main city, is a border settlement where the Argonians are in charge. The people of Blackwood want nothing to do with the war in Cyrodiil. However, they have bigger problems than the Three-Banners conflict. Daedric forces are at work and this is not a good sign.
