Elder Scrolls Online: How To Obtain And Use Companions

Elder Scrolls Online introduces companions with the upcoming Blackwood expansion. Companions are followers that have multiple functions. Players will need the Blackwood expansion to access the companion feature. Two of them will be available at release. Bastian Hallix and Mirri Elendis are the first companions. They are unlocked after players complete each companion's quest line. It's important to note that you must complete the companion's introductory quest with all of your characters for which you want a companion. After acquiring a companion, you will gain access to a new menu option called Allies. It is under the Collections menu. This menu allows you to activate either a companion or an assistant. You cannot have both at the same time. Companions have collectibles that can be activated from the menu with the same name. Alternatively, you can put the collectibles in quick slots for rapid use.

How to Summon and Interact with ESO Companions

There are a few places where the companions cannot be summoned. You can have your companion in a dungeon as long as the total number of characters (players and companions) in the party does not exceed the maximum dungeon character cap. Companions will automatically leave the party as other players join the group. PvP zones and solo arenas are other areas where you cannot summon the companion. They also cannot join you in your house. Companions cannot come at your side if you are engaged in battle. There's one more instance in which you cannot summon the companion. Players will have a reputation level with their companion. If that level goes too low, the companion may leave and you cannot recall them for a while. Players can talk to their companion using the menu dialogue option. You can check the follower's status and access the customization menu. This menu includes combat and visual customization. Players also have the option to chat with their companions. They can ask more about the companion's background. The replies from the companion depend on the reputation level, quest decisions, and more. There's also an overview option that allows you to see the companion's information. You can also check out their level, active abilities, reputation, perks, and costumes. Companions will level up just like the main characters. As they gain new levels, they will become better fighters. The players will access a combat customization menu that allows them to set the companion's behavior while fighting enemies.
