Elder Scrolls Online – Introducing The Antiquities System
The Antiquities system is a new Elder Scrolls Online feature that becomes available with the release of the Greymoor expansion. This is basically archaeology. Adventurers will join the Antiquarian Circle and travel the world in search of treasures that are obtained through digging.
You will discover remnants of the past, collectible items, mythic items, and valuable items. Scrying and excavation are the bases of this system. Scrying gives players a tool that allows them to locate the items. Excavation is the process through which the items are obtained. The developers wanted to create the Antiquities system for every player to enjoy, no matter their skill and experience. Players can spend just a few minutes with the new feature but they can also easily put a few hours into a session. Another appeal of the Antiquities system is that it has rewards for everyone.
No matter what kind of player you are, you are bound to find something useful. For example, those who like role-playing and dressing-up will appreciate the new costumes. PvP players have the Magicka Lance siege weapon to acquire. Those who are into crafting will discover new motifs and enchantments. Do you like to decorate your house? Then you will be pleased with the many furnishing items that can be obtained. If you want to change your build, you can do so using a mythic item that is also among the rewards.
The Ebon Dwarven Wolf is another reward but this one does not come all at once. You will have to discover the pieces and put them together. If you a Tamriel lore enthusiast, you'll be most glad with the new information obtained through this system. You have the chance to uncover more about its past and inhabitants. You will learn about forgotten rituals, extinct races, not so known divine beings, and other mysteries.
The Antiquities system comes with the Greymoor expansion on May 26th on PC and June 9th on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. While this system is tied to the new expansion, it is not limited to the expansion zone. You will travel the whole world in search of items. Until the expansion comes you can complete the prologue quest for free and enjoy the newest game DLC.
