Elder Scrolls Online - The Antiquities System Explained

Elder Scrolls Online: Greymoor introduces a new feature. The Antiquities system is an activity that gives players the chance to uncover treasures. With some restrictions, the ESO map becomes your treasure hunting playground. Cyrodiil, Imperial City, and the newly added Blackreach are the only zones that don't have any treasures, for now. Head to Solitude and look for Verita Numida. This is the NPC that helps players getting started with this new activity.
First things first, you will need leads that will point you towards a zone. As soon as you become a member of the Antiquarians Circle, you get some leads. More leads are acquired from quests, drops, monsters, and so on. You can check out the leads you're on in the Journal. Follow a lead and you will get to a zone. This is where the two mini-games come in. You need to Scry a lead to unlock its secret. Scrying is a mini-game that gives you the location of a dig site. There's also a Scrying skill line that allows you to become better at this activity. You can invest points in this skill line and you will discover the dig site's location faster.
As soon as you uncover a dig site, travel to that location. Once you reach the dig site, look around for the glowing mounds that hide treasures, artifacts, or relics. Now it's time for the second mini-game. This one is called Excavation. Antiquarians have various tools that help them excavate. You begin with only two but you will find more eventually. The Excavation skill line contains passive skills that help you with this mini-game. These are tools that are unlocked by investing points in this skill line. The hand brush clears some dirt and unlocks the next two utensils: trowel and heavy shovel. The trowel allows you to clear entire layers of dirt in a cell. The heavy shovel has an AOE effect. It clears only a bit of dirt but from a larger area. This skill line also has the Augur ability that makes it easier for you to find the treasures.
Speaking of treasures, here's what you obtain from this activity. You can uncover mythic equipment. Treasures are often buried in the dirt. Find them and sell them for gold. Cosmetic items can be found too. The Ebon Dwarven Wolf mount awaits buried somewhere. Magicka Lances are a new type of siege weapons obtainable from this activity. Motifs, lore items, and furnishings complete the list. Also, you can find more valuable treasures and items at U7BUY ESO store!
