Elder Scrolls Online is an MMORPG based on the famous Elder Scrolls single player series. Those who played the previous games already know that remarkable NPCs are a staple of the franchise. The first Elder Scrolls Online expansion, Morrowind, returns players to the same area from the third Elder Scrolls game but in a different era. Players will meet three Great Houses locked in a power struggle, the element that maintains the fragile balance and some NPCs that may be familiar to veteran Elder Scrolls fans.

The three Great Dark Elf Houses are as power hungry as they are old. House Redoran declared themselves rulers and partisans of the Ebonheart Pact. Members of this house were also featured in Elder Scrolls Morrowind and Skyrim. No deed is too dirty for members of the House Hlaalu. House Telvanni are magic users who are still guided by the old ways. These three Great Houses have many differences but the same goal :to become the dominant house and rule Morrowind according to their vision. They are at conflict but they don't fight an open war. When members of the Great Houses have something to settle they employ the services of Morag Tong. Mephala the Daedric Prince is the patron of this organization that deals mostly with assassinations. Morag Tong members are always willing to serve any Great House as long as they get compensation for their service. Their allegiance is only to Mephala and the Great Houses war is nothing more than business to them.

Seryn is an Ashlander diplomat and also a skilled fighter. She uses a staff to protect herself, to defend the innocents and to settle disputes when diplomacy is no longer an option. Archcanon Tarvus is the powerful leader of the Tribunal Temple. His job is to make sure that Vivec City's inhabitants continue to believe in their patron god.
